About the Double Dutch founders

Joyce and Raissa de Haas are the dynamic twin co-founders of award-winning UK premium tonic and mixers brand Double Dutch. Since launching in 2015, they have received numerous accolades with Sir Richard Branson supporting their vision by awarding them a coveted Foodpreneur Award. Additional honours include being voted best overall tonic in a blind tasting across 10 other market leading tonic brands by The Independent and taking a spot on the prestigious Forbes ’30 under 30’ ​ Europe list. In just a few years, they have built a multi million pound business that has most recently attracted a Heineken family investment and received the prestigious King's Award for Enterprise in International Trade.

Beyond business success, Joyce and Raissa are committed to contributing to positive social change, with the brand recently securing B Corporation status, showcasing their commitment to responsible business practices - a distinction unmatched by any other major mixer brand. Double Dutch is also recognised for its work on inclusivity, notably through initiatives like the Female Bartending scholarship program, and its charitable work with the Princes’ Trust.

While the world’s choice of spirits continued to expand, the twins saw a lack of innovation in the market for flavourful, low-calorie mixers. By the end of securing their second master’s degree, the twins had founded Double Dutch and launched their debut mixers - ‘Pomegranate & Basil’ and ‘Cucumber & Watermelon’ - to rave reviews and numerous accolades. Low-calorie, vegan-friendly and all natural using sustainably sourced flavours, the brand now sells to over 40 countries worldwide.

Over Double Dutch

Co-founded by twin sisters Raissa and Joyce de Haas, Double Dutch is a premium mixer brand offering a range of award-winning tonics and mixers that are both a refreshing soft drink or a lively mixer to enhance any spirit. All flavours in the thirteen-strong range are created through the process of molecular gastronomy, which results in unique, counter-intuitive and delicious flavour combinations.

The portfolio includes innovative and flavourful mixers such as ‘Cucumber & Watermelon’, ‘Pomegranate & Basil’, ‘Cranberry & Ginger Tonic’, ‘Pink Grapefruit Soda’, as well as a premium ‘Skinny Tonic Water’, ‘Ginger Ale’ and ‘Ginger Beer’. 

Joyce and Raissa have grown their London-based business to 45 countries around the world including Belgium, their native Netherlands and most recently, the USA. The brand became carbon neutral in 2022 and is now a certified B Corp. Double Dutch has also been named IWSC Mixer Producer of the Year.
